TAYSIDE COUNCILLORS IN A SPIN!!
Dear Sirs,
In your recent article about speed cameras a spokesperson for the Speed Camera Partnership said the main criteria for the installation of cameras was the number of accidents on a road caused by excessive speed. She can't even remember her own propaganda! At the launch of the Partnership we were told the criteria were the number of accidents AND a history of speeding. The accidents used to justify the cameras were not even significantly caused by speeding and the cameras were deliberately introduced as the wrong solution to the problem.
No wonder we have just seen a 37% increase in road deaths - the second year of an increase. Road safety now joins all the other issues such as Iraq in the mire of government spin and deceit.
